My name is Alexis, and I’m the owner, guide, driver, marketer, and behind-the-scenes operator of Sitka Rainforest Adventures. When you book a tour with me, you’re not joining a large tour company—you’ll be exploring Sitka with a local who lives here year-round and genuinely loves sharing the plants, animals, history, and traditions that make this place so special.

My passion for Sitka goes far beyond guiding. I live a subsistence lifestyle and spend much of my free time hunting, fishing, foraging, and exploring the forests and shorelines around Sitka. I’m constantly searching for wild edible and medicinal plants, berries, mushrooms, seaweeds, and other natural resources that have sustained people here for generations. The rainforest is more than a beautiful backdrop —it’s a robust ecosystem that I continue to learn from every day.

Before starting Sitka Rainforest Adventures, I worked in Alaska’s commercial fishing industry, my time spent on the water led me to develop a deep appreciation for the ocean, salmon, marine wildlife, and the hardworking communities that shape our way of life in Southeast Alaska. That connection to the land and sea influences every tour I lead..

You will hear stories about everyday life, commercial fishing, subsistence living, and the unique relationship Alaskans have with our environment.. And you’ll most certainly hear a few stories about Timber, my furry best friend.
